Solar designed for the Central Valley — installed by the crew that maintains it.
Residential & Commercial Solar Installation
Golden Rays designs and installs complete solar systems for homes, businesses and agricultural properties across Fresno, Clovis, Madera and the wider Central Valley. Every system is sized to your actual power usage rather than a rule of thumb, and we handle the process end to end — site assessment, design, permitting, installation and commissioning.
We Also Maintain What Everyone Else Installed
This is what makes us a different kind of installer. Alongside installation, we clean, repair and bird-proof solar systems right across the Valley — thousands of arrays, most of them put up by someone else. That gives us something a pure installation company does not have: a direct, daily view of how equipment actually performs here five and ten years after the sale.
We see which inverters keep failing, which mounting hardware works loose, which racking traps debris, and which panels still look right after a decade of Valley sun. That goes straight into what we specify for you — and it is why we will occasionally talk a customer out of a cheaper component we know we would be back to replace.
How We Choose Panels and Inverters
We select on long-term reliability and the strength of the manufacturer's warranty record, not on the lowest bid. A system is only as good as its weakest component, and in practice that is usually the inverter — the part most likely to need replacing first, and where brand choice matters most.
Where we see a manufacturer generating repeat warranty claims across the systems we service, we steer customers away from it regardless of price. Saving a few hundred dollars at installation and paying for a replacement inverter later is not a saving.
Designed for Valley Heat and Dust
Solar output falls as panel temperature rises, which matters more here than in milder parts of California. Fresno and Madera summers run past 100°F for weeks at a time, so mounting clearance and airflow beneath the array are not cosmetic details — they make a measurable difference to production across a Valley summer.
Agricultural dust is the second design factor. Panels here soil faster than almost anywhere in the state, so we plan for access: an array you can reach and clean easily is worth more over its life than one squeezed onto an awkward roof plane for a slightly better angle on paper.
Tile, Shingle and Ground Mounts
Newer Fresno and Clovis developments are mostly concrete tile, which needs tile-specific mounts and flashing and careful handling to avoid cracking. Older central Fresno neighborhoods tend toward composition shingle — quicker to work with, but with its own flashing requirements. Rushing either is where roof leaks come from.
On larger Madera County parcels a ground mount is often the better answer: optimal orientation regardless of how the house faces, far easier cleaning and maintenance access, and no roof penetrations at all.
Permitting and Paperwork
We handle the submission. Properties inside Fresno city limits permit through the City of Fresno, Clovis permits separately through the City of Clovis, and unincorporated addresses go through Fresno County or Madera County depending on location. HOA communities — common across Clovis — usually run their own approval alongside the building permit.
Bird Proofing at Installation
Worth deciding before the crew leaves. Fitting critter guard while we are already on the roof avoids a separate visit later, and in this area the question is when pigeons find your array rather than whether. Our guard uses thick hot-dipped galvanized steel mesh on J-hooks that clip to the panel frame — no penetrations — backed by a permanent lifetime warranty.
